Account Manager

Summary

 

Primarily a customer service role, the Account Manager’s key role is to provide smooth delivery of services to each of the accounts under the manager’s portfolio.  An account manager is responsible for helping clients plan and execute their tradeshow or other project plans.  Account managers are also responsible for maintaining the profitability of their accounts and it is expected that the account manager is successful in growing and expanding accounts assigned to them.  Although not necessarily expected from the start of employment, a successful account manager will always need to have a high level of understanding of all aspects of tradeshow event management, including both the logistics and fundamental marketing aspects.  It is a position that requires exceptional organizational skills as well as the ability to manage several projects at a single time.  Account managers are also required to be able to travel internationally from time to time.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

 

Tradeshow Planning and Management

  • Determining client needs and goals for their tradeshow program;

  • Making suggestions and giving advice to clients on how to achieve goals and objectives;

  • Able to manage several shows simultaneously;

  • Working with design staff and other project specific employees to ensure smooth delivery of service to all clients;

  • Working with Skyline corporate to manage / order products;

 

Inside Sales / Account Growth

  • Become an expert in Skyline’s product offerings;

  • Help clients to increase measured success at tradeshows / events;

  • Offer solutions where necessary;

  • New graphics, new hardware sales;

  • Service sales (I&D, rentals, asset management)

 

Administrative Duties

  • Ordering show services;

  • Requesting I&D / Freight quotes;

  • Planning travel requirements;

  • Documenting project specific details in Exhibit Force;

  • Maintaining and organizing client inventory database;

  • Maintaining and updating the Skyline Event Database;

 
Required Work Experience / Skills / Attributes

  • Methodical attention to detail

  • Exceptional organization

  • Strong time management capabilities

  • Strong communication, mediation and problem solving skills

  • Ability to cope with conflict, stress & crisis situations.

  • Ability to work well within a team environment

  • Trade Show industry experience is considered an asset

  • Microsoft Office Experience

  • General Computer and email skills
