The Nutrien Garden box initiative was created as a community project to work with local Indigenous communities to build sustainable growing garden boxes. These boxes were to teach and provide opportunities for remote communities to be able to supplement their food source. We were able to create easy to use self-watering custom garden boxes and kits that provided everything required to start a vegetable garden. This project also required coordination with many local indigenous communities for delivery. In under one month we were able to deliver these boxes to 15 different communities in time for a successful start to the prairie growing season.
